whats she been up to lately

I'm still not over the Eamon thing.

I’ve been good lately, no boozing on a school night- due to an unofficial warning in work. So it’s been socialising with sobriety of late. I had a good catch up with Jules last week in Pizzastop, tasty but the non English speaking waiters can be a problem if you want the number 12 on the menu altered with something as dramatic as a gravy. She’s in good form since her exit from the jokeshop.

Friday was a non event in work. Went to Dundrum to pick up stuff in Argos- what’s with the new, order and come back in a week business? Down with that sorta thing. I headed out to Sallins to Lena’s first night in her posh new pad. Posh but no TV or couch yet so it was vino at the kitchen table . A male neighbour of hers scuttled in with vino later in the night, so that brought us to three am and I’ll let her tell you about the rest!

Saturday was my second birthday, much like the Queen’s 80th birthday but better. I went furniture shopping with The Special One for his posh new pad, all my mates are getting posher you see- but not me, I still shoplift when the urge takes me. That was pretty successful. Then Keith Floyd, I mean Dad, put on a lovely BBQ and then P, Suz and the Special One came over for Champers. Strutted on up to the Poitin then for a knees up, all the usual suspects were there. Up to the Court for a few more sociables, which was full of Rathcoolians. Lots of dancing was done, Suzy the Dancing Queen met Gerry the Dancing Queen of Naas and it was a match made in heaven. I think he said something like “show us” and it all kicked off footloose style. The Special One ran around with trays of baby Guinness like a madman, Siobhs scored a boybander and Lena cored a frog. P went missing, ahem. But suffice to say she is alive and well!

Sunday, thank God I’m back on the Milk Thistle, was the christening of Molly Rose in Sandymount. That was a family affair- lots of lovely food and wine and then banter and then politics banter after a few pints of rust. Hit the scratcher reasonably early, no thanks to Mal who thought after ten hours of sipping thought Renards was a good idea.

Oh and had a great day on my birthday last week, I woke up and yeh I had turned 26. My first phonecall was from Murph asking had my bladder weakened each time I coughed. No, not yet I told her. Work remembered my birthday which was nice. Went to the Coole for Éclair and Profiterole cake, as good as it sounds folks, Superquinn. Got loads of lovely lovely presents –one or two which may turn into blogs, a big ball that I can’t remember the name of that you bop on and hold onto the ears and a weekend away in Kerry from the Extra Special One. Good times.
